Queen Anne style parcel-gilt Chinoiserie bureau bookcase late 19th century, gilded flame and figural finials on broken-arch pediment, above mirrored doors opening to reveal highly-decorated interior of secret compartments, drawers, document slots and compartments; supported on mid-section with fall-front writing surface concealing decorated fitted interior; on lower part with kneehole cabinet flanked by drawers on molded base with ogee-bracket feet; highly decorated with gilt Asian figural and floral scenes on faux-painted ground; and interiors in vibrant crimson; H97" W49" D22"
