Fine Austrian silver, enamel, and ivory casket circa 1890, top inset with painted enamel panel depicting Venus in chariot drawn by doves, attended by Cupid, framed by the signs of the Zodiac, the sides with plaques of Leda and the Swan and Hercules and Omphale; front and back inset with pierce-carved ivory figural panel niches surrounded by foliate; opening to crimson silk-lined interior; marked: inside 800 and with Austrian standard mark; H4 3/4" W8 1/2" D5 1/4"
