American Aesthetic Movement writing desk circa 1900
ebonized in the Chinese manner, superstructure with molded top over carved and pierced panel, fitted with three small drawers, on rectangular writing surface, case having three drawers with incise-carved bamboo decoration, on legs with pierced corner blocking terminating in curved feet.

Holes in top indicate that it may have had a gallery. Drawer fronts are mahogany veneer, short drawers are 5-1/2" deep and long drawers are 15-1/4" deep. Slide-out writing surface is 26" by 18". 1 replaced pull on short drawer and 1 replaced back plate on long drawer. Overall condition is very good with minor imperfections consistent with age.
