Description:

American Classical mahogany secretary bookcase circa 1840, upper section with flat top and cornice over two raised panel doors opening to reveal three shelves and row of dividers above two small drawers on lower case with fold-over writing surface above three drawers flanked by flat columns, raised on turned feet.

Provenance: Estate of Elizabeth H. Rader, Rock Hill, South Carolina.

    Condition:
  • refinished; bookcase door is warped; two patches to fold-over writing surface; felt writing surface is gone; scattered veneer losses and repairs.
