circa 1840 octagonal turned shaped posts topped with heavy finials and fitted with a tester, flanking a shaped headboard surmounted with a horizontal column turning terminating with finials, with square-edged side and foot rails. (Shrinkage cracks in headboard, tester is replacement, overall good condition) H85 3/4" W64" D82 1/4" *Provenance: Family history attributes this bed as being from the 'Magnolia Dale' Museum in Edgefield, SC, currently the location for the Edgefield County Historic Society. The bed is believed to be from the Warren family, and Mr. L. C. Parker, Jr. of Columbia, SC sold the bed to Mr. and Mrs. Linwood L. Turner of North Augusta, SC.
