Description:

American figural copper weathervane 19th century
molded and wool texturized ram body on original rod with verdigris patina; probably made by Cushing & Sons, Waltham, Massachusetts.
H78" W28 1/2"

Provenance: Descended in the Bascom family of Vermont and Massachusetts. This weathervane was removed in 1970 from atop a 200 year old farmhouse located in Farmingham, Massachusetts and stored until now.

    Condition:
  • Natural weathered finish. Appears that legs have been reinforced on horizontal bar, face has had restoration. Repaired puncture on neck. Stem orb with dents.
