American gilt-copper eagle weathervane probably New England, late 19th century
full-bodied gilded copper eagle with zinc head and raised wings, clenching gilded orb above arrow directional and cardinal points, mounted on large wood pedestal.

Provenance: A'Riga IV, Charleston, South Carolina.

Property from the Estate of Marcia and John Gunter, Columbia, South Carolina.

Other Notes: A'Riga IV invoice dated June 1978 states that this was purchased from Milford, Delaware and sat atop a general store there and had been in storage since 1940.
