American Victorian carved walnut secretary bookcase circa 1870
top section with pierced crest and bust of man over molded cornice, above two glazed doors over fall front opening to reveal pigeonholes and row of three drawers, on stepped-out bottom section containing two cupboard doors on molded base.

Provenance : A Charleston, South Carolina estate.

Cornice is original to the piece. Stabilized crack to canted section of cornice molding, few dark stains and fisheyes to finish. Overall good condition consistent with age.
