Arthur Davenport Fuller Connecticut (1889-1966) DUCKS IN FLIGHT watercolor, framed, signed: lower right, Arthur D. Fuller sight size: H20 1/2" W28 3/8" *Artist biography: An ardent sportsman all his life, Fuller was identified with hunting and fishing pictures for the major part of his career. The accuracy of detail in his covers and story illustrations for Field & Stream won him a large following among sharp-eyed and critical readers for many years. Earlier in his career, Fuller had illustrated more general subject matter for nearly all of the major magazines including Greenbook, Redbook, the Saturday Evening Post, Colliers, The Lady's Home Journal, Cosmopolitan, The American Legion and McCall's. Fuller was born in Exeter, New Hampshire, and educated at Harvard, the Fenway School of Illustration in Boston and the Chicago Academy of Fine Arts. He also studied with Harvey Dunn. He was a member of the Animal Artist's Society, the Salmagundi Club, the Westport Artists and the Society of Illustrators in New York.
