Other Notes: Self-taught artist Berneta Crowder was born in Fort Mitchell, Virginia. Her works, which are set mostly in the 1920s focus on life and activities in rural Virginia. Some of her pieces were included in the exhibit "Winters Past: Seasonal Impressions by Virginia Memory Painters" along with similar artists Eldridge Bagley and Queena Stovall at the Meadow Farm Museum in 1986.
