Description:

Carved giltwood and plaster picture frame late 19th century
profusely decorated with acanthus and C-scrolls, with stepped inner moldings.
H43" W54 1/2"

Provenance: Property from Georgia private collection.

    Condition:
  • Some rubbing to original gilt, no evident overpaint except small areas of losses, few losses to gesso. Two miter joints slightly open in liner, stabilized crack across acanthus at one corner. Overall good condition consistent with age. Inside dimensions are: 40 1/2" x 29"
