Chamberlain Worcester porcelain dinner service circa 1820-40
gilt gadroon rim over wide apple-green enamel border center gilt design, comprising:
36 plates, Dia.10 1/4"
24 soup plates, Dia.10"
12 plates, Dia.8 3/4"
12 soup plates, Dia.9" (84pcs)

Provenance: Estate of Lilla F. Hoefer (Mrs. Herbert Wellington Hoefer), Columbia, South Carolina.

    Condition:
  • 10 1/4" plates: 17 with impressed Chamberlain marks, 1 with rim chip, 1 with stress cracks to glaze
    10" soup plates: 1 with glaze imperfection on edge, 1 with rim chip, 1 marked with red back stamp.
    8 3/4" plates: 3 marked with red back stamp, 1 with scratch to green border
    9" soup plates: 1 with glaze flakes to underside, 1 with crazing to white portion, 1 with hairline
    All with wear to gilding and green borders consistent with age.
