Description:

Charleston carved mahogany tea table circa 1760, circular scalloped piecrust dished top, hinged and swiveling on birdcage support above turned stop-fluted columnar standard on cabriole legs with cartouche and leaf-carved knees and leaf-carved slipper feet.

Provenance: Amended provenance: This table was reported to have descended from the family of Richard I. Manning when in actuality it has descended through the family of Elizabeth Tennent Heath and was subsequently willed by her to her grandchildren. It is believed that she purchased it in the early 1900s.

    Condition:
  • Minor scratches and water stains to top surface, top cleats reset, latch keeper replaced, small pieced repair to one foot pad, overall very good condition with other minor imperfections consistent with age.
