Chinese carved white jade table screen Qianlong period, circa 1736-1795, upright rectangular panel finely carved in high relief on both sides with figures in boat on mountainous fluminous landscape with pavilion nestled on hanging cliffs and sky inscribed with poem, supported on pierce-carved wood stand.

Purchased from the B. Manheim collection, New Orleans, Louisiana, 1970.

    Condition:
  • The front with dark and light veining; right side and verso with natural color variations to stone; otherwise in good condition. Later stand in good condition. The red color was added to the inscription for photography and then removed.
