Chinese Export partial tea service American Market, circa 1785
iron-red and gilt decorated bulbous teapot adorned with pseudo-armorial mantle supporting ovals encasing initials JAL and MVB; consisting of:
teapot, H7 3/4" and two teabowls H1 3/4" with saucers Dia.4 1/4" (5pcs)
Provenance: Purchased from Mildred Mottahedeh in the 1970s.

Teapot has glaze hairline to handle base, loses to finial decoration, and wear to gilding. Both teabowls have rim frits and wear to gilding.
