Chinese Export Pronk Dame au Parasol plate circa 1780
for the European market, with well-known painted scene in the Imari palette.

Other Notes: The 'La Dame au Parasol' pattern was one of four designs commissioned by the V.O.C. from the Dutch artist Cornelis Pronk, who was sent out to Canton in 1736 and painted services shipped to the Netherlands in 1737 and 38. Pronk's watercolors can be seen in the collection of the Rijksmuseum, Amsterdam.
