Chinese Export tea service circa 1790
en grisaille floral-painted design with gilt pomegranate finials, consisting of: teapot, H6"; covered sugar, H5 1/2"; and helmet-form creamer, H5". (3pcs)

Provenance: De-accessioned in 1997 from the collections of Historic Charleston Foundation; and sold in these rooms to benefit the Nathaniel Russell House preservation funds.

  • Covered sugar appears to have had some restoration, sprayed finish or yellow discoloration to porcelain, however, there''s no evidence of any repairs under bright light. The set is otherwise in very good condition with normal wear consistent with age.
