Columbian Centinel, No. 20 of Vol. XXIV, 4 pages Boston (November 14, 1795) located in the third column of the first page, Miscellany is printed with a letter from President George Washington in answer to the Petition of the Inhabitants of Georgetown [South Carolina], and its vicinity, respecting the Treaty between the United States and Great Britain, Sept. 14, 1795. (Wear to edges, paper has yellowed, few minor tears to edges, inscribed in pencil in upper margin: 1-3 Wash. letter...C). Together with a South Carolina Legislative Manual including "An ACT to establish a College at Columbia" [later the University of South Carolina], the allotment of $50,000 for the building of the University and appointment of Board of Trustees.
