reads: No. 322. Are indebted unto Jms. B. Brown Trust for Laura Stith or assigns in the sum of Eight Hundred Dollars redeemable after the first day of July 1868 with interest from the 18 day of May 1863 inclusive at SEVEN per cent per annum payable on the first days of January and July in each year ___. This debt is authorized by an Act of Congress, Entitled "An Act to authorize the issue of bonds for funding Treasury notes, approved February 20, 1863 and is upon the express condition, that said Confederate States may from time to time extend the time of payment for any period, not exceeding Thirty Years from this date at the same rate of interest, upon the surrender of the Certificate".
