Continental carved alabaster urn 19th century, Classical form with beaded and lamb's-tongue rim over vasiform decorated with allegorical romantic scene surmounted with swan's-head handles ending in grotesques, on pedestal base with plinth.

Provenance: Estate of the late Francis D. "Skeeter" McNairy, Savannah, Georgia.

  • Urn in four sections:
    1. A beaded Egg & Dart carved flaring rim which has been broken into four large sections and repaired.
    2. Ribbon band broken into five sections has been repaired and rebuilt, ribbon with heavy losses.
    3. Urn with repaired and rebuilt handles; heavy losses to outstretched acanthus ornamentation; chips, nicks and repair to pedestal
    4. Plinth with repairs.
