mid 19th century
surmounted with a central ornament flanked by carved mythological animals, scrolling foliage and flowers, with twist-turnings engaging arms terminating in lions'-heads, raised on ring-and-block turned legs, upholstered in cut velvet. (Back loose at right arm, old repairs)
