Continental school (18th century) GUARDING THE VILLAGE

Provenance: Estate of J.M. Larkin, Camden, South Carolina.

    Condition:
  • Painting relined. Vertical tear 14" long extending from center top to front gable of house. Sections of inpainting in top right corner, tops and trunks of trees on right, and to the right of trees on left. Touch-ups throughout to repair flaking and craquelure, (approx. five percent of painting). New frame with nicks, dents, chips, and antique finish.
