Officers will strictly observe the following 'Sanitary Order.'" Circa 1861, signed by Josiah Tattnell, Flag Officer; Confederate Naval Court Martial letter to the Secretary of the Navy from John R. Tucker, President of a Court Martial held in Charleston, South Carolina beginning 5 June 1863, regarding the eligibility of a Confederate naval engineer to sit on the court. A copy of a telegram sent in reply is copied on the verso.
