Dutch carved and inlaid walnut tall clock, Willem Redie Amsterdam, mid 18th century
three large finials above rococo bonnet with pierced brass overlay, over scroll-shaped glazed door housing 8-day, weight-driven time, strike and alarm movement behind engraved brass and silvered dial with seconds bit and three windows, showing day of week, month and day of month, all resting on brass-mounted long case with scrolled door over swelled base, with projecting scrolls on turned feet.

Provenance: Property from a Birmingham, Alabama estate.

    Condition:
  • Movement is complete and appears to be original to the case. Rectangular flat panel added to top of bonnet, finials replaced. Minor damage to bonnet behind door, seat board is split. Feet may be replacements. Good overall condition. Clock is presently running but we do not guarantee clocks to run once they leave our gallery.
