Edwardian inlaid satinwood Carlton House desk by Edwards & Roberts circa 1900 upper surround with gilt-metal gallery, fitted with doors, drawers and wells, on lower part with leather-paneled writing slope and three frieze drawers, on tapered legs with cups and casters, decorated overall with scrolling foliage, urns and flowers issuing ribbons. (Gallery lacking several uprights, crack through veneer running beneath right-hand well, otherwise good condition) H38 3/4" W54 1/8" D27 1/2" *Note: Edwards & Roberts was considered one of the premier English firms to make very high quality and faithful reproductions of 18th and 19th century designs. If their pieces are not stamped, they are sometimes taken for period furniture.
