rectangular box with brass corners, straps and central placque engraved "Wm. Collis" opening to reveal felt-lined writing slope and fitted interior, on associated stand with chamfered legs and pierced corner blocks.

Scuffs and scratches to desk overall consistent with age; burn mark on top. Lacking one ink bottle, felt writing surface worn but intact. Stand of a later date, with minor wear.
