Exceptional Whiting sterling five-piece tea and coffee service New York, circa 1893, highly decorated applied Rococo scroll and leaf design, comprising:
kettle on stand, H12 1/2"
coffeepot, H10"
teapot, H7 3/4"
open sugar, H4 1/2"
creamer, H4 1/4"
underside engraved: McGovern; and each marked: Lion with W, Sterling, 3830, Patapr.25.93.
Total 172.0oz troy (5pcs)

Provenance: Estate of Michael M. Finefrock, Charleston, South Carolina.

    Condition:
  • kettle: with wear to insulators and few tiny dents
    stand: in good condition, burner with small dent to base
    coffeepot: engraved on underside; two dime-sized repairs to shoulder; small dents to body; loose handle
    Teapot, sugar and creamer: with several small dents throughout; engraved on underside.
