Description:

Exquisite Austrian enamel urn attributed to Hermann Boehm late 19th century
decorated with Neoclassical and mythological panels and roundels on gold ground accented with leaf scrolls, with enameled silver mounts, top flanked by caryatid handles ending in winged horses connecting mounted band over inverted ovoid body, above copper stem mounted with queens separated by griffons on overturned chalice-form base ending in silver band, interior with sepia leaf scrolls on rose-colored ground.

Provenance: Property deaccessioned from the Centennial Museum at the University of Texas at El Paso to benefit the Museum Collections Fund. (Accession #E69.26.88)

    Condition:
  • Very good original condition. The silver-mounts have not been polished; some minor rubbing and losses to enamel on handles and mounts.
