Federal inlaid mahogany butler's desk, probably Maryland circa 1800, rectangular top above conforming case fitted with large drawer over three graduated drawers, the top drawer with fallboard opening to reveal prospect door flanked by small drawers and pigeonholes, all raised on French feet with cyma-curved skirt.

  • Brass replaced, shrinkage crack in top, scattered losses to drawer cockbeading, leather writing surface distress at hinge joint, minor veneer loss and patches, overall condition very good with other minor imperfections consistent with age.
