Fine British embroidered silk needlework floral study dated 1760, elaborately stitched bouquet on oval panel with purple crushed mica border, by Mary Comber; framed.
needlework size: H20 1/2" W17" overall: H27 1/2" W24"

Provenance: Charleston, South Carolina Estate.
Estate of the late Francis D. "Skeeter" McNairy, Savannah, Georgia.

    Condition:
  • Stitching looks tight with colors still bright. Three slight horizontal tears in fabric ground along left side: 6" in upper quadrant below rose, 2" at top of lower quadrant, and a 4" near base of urn. Small losses to mica.
