Description:

Fine Cartier spinach jade Art Deco desk clock circa 1915
diamond-encrusted knop on stepped architectural design supported on jade slab and green quartz panels mounted with gold geometric designs and stepped semicircular feet, housing double rectangular dials with enamel Roman numerals; underside marked 1205.

Provenance: Property deaccessioned from the Centennial Museum at the University of Texas at El Paso to benefit the Museum Collections Fund. (Accession #E69.26.50)

    Condition:
  • Case in very good original condition. Clock movement is wound tight and not operating in the gallery. Since this has been in storage since 1960, it is presumably in dire need of cleaning. The original movement is signed "European Watch and Clock Co. Inc. Swiss Made, 15 jewels, three adj."
