Fine George III inlaid mahogany tall clock, signed Thomas Smith, Norwich late 18th century, broken arch top with three finials above astragal-shaped door ahead of brass dial signed "Thomas Smith, Norwich", over rectangular waist door and base on shaped bracket feet; the case heavily inlaid with quarter-fans, conch shells and barber-pole banding.
H91 1/4" W19 1/2" D9 3/4"

    Condition:
  • minor scattered shrinkage cracks; minor loss to bonnet base molding; movement complete however pendulum suspension is broken and clock is not operating at time of sale; replaced seat board; finials replaced; one broken and repaired scroll; repair to base molding; inlay is in very good condition overall; clock is in very good condition overall with other minor imperfections.
