Provenance : Originally from the estate of Florence Van Tassel, New York, then bequeathed to Edwinna Ryan Maes of New York and Connecticut. They were great aunts of the present owner. Painting was on loan to the Museum of Fine Arts in Boston at some point.

Canvas support recently relined. Canvas was cut off stretcher and adhered to new stretcher. Frame original to piece but reguilded. Forty to fifty percent with overpainting and inpainting predominantly in margins though some figures are affected. Some inpainting visible to naked eye, all clearly visible under blacklight.
