Description:

French brass and porcelain clock garniture circa 1870, eight-day time and strike movement housed in architectural case with gable roof above Corinthian columns flanking painted porcelain village scene under dial to stepped plinth, shaped feet with matching urn-form sidepieces.

Provenance: South Carolina private collection.

    Condition:
  • Scattered losses to gilded highlites, one small flake to porcelain in sidepiece, small piece of brass trim missing in pediment, minute hand missing, movement original and complete except for broken pendulum suspension wire.
