French Empire silver covered dish circa 1798-1809 a pine-cone finial above a reeded domed lid; resting on a pierce-work stand with mask supported on cabriole legs ending in hoof feet, surrounding a deep well with foliate design ending with acorn finial; all resting on a trefoil base and small sphere feet. Underside marked with Paris 1st. standard 950/1000 and Grosse Garantie. (Overall good condition, one leaf broken and one missing). H10.5in W5.5in, approx. 20 troy oz.
