Description:

French ormolu-mounted and porcelain mantel clock 19th century
gilt-bronze architectural base inset with painted porcelain plaquettes depicting musical trophies and portrait miniature of lady surmounted by central urn and diminutive finials; housing painted porcelain dial and concealed works.

Provenance: Property deaccessioned from the Centennial Museum at the University of Texas at El Paso to benefit the Museum Collections Fund. (Accession #E69.26.411)

    Condition:
  • The two small porcelain plaques flanking the portrait plaque are cracked, gilding in excellent condition with very minor losses, movement complete and in running order, however we do not guarantee timepieces to be operational after they leave the gallery
