Other Notes: Bion (French, 1652-1733) served as royal maker of mathematical instruments under King Louis XIV and, in 1709, published an influential and abundantly illustrated treatise titled THE CONSTRUCTION AND PRINCIPAL USES OF MATHEMATICAL INSTRUMENTS.
