Rare George II silver cake basket, Peter Archambo London, dated 1740 shaped flat-chased swing handle supported by caryatids on oval body engraved with arms of Allen within baroque cartouche on ground of floral diaper and fish scales, sides pierced with geometric and scrolls, applied rococo scrolling rim with leaves, shells and two masks, raised on pierced scrollwork spreading foot; underside with complete hallmarks and maker's mark.
