George III sterling covered tureen by Pitts & Preedy London, dated 1795 acanthus-draped pineapple finial on ovoid domed and leaf decorated cover, supported on conforming ovoid Classical urn-form body with Adamesque neoclassical motifs of vitruvian scroll and floral and foliate designs, flanked by sweeping leaf-capped handles; tureen recto and verso emblazoned with unidentified coat-of-arms and cover with conforming crests; complete hallmarks and makers' mark of William Pitts and Joseph Preedy.
