Georgian enameled brooch circa 1840 eighteen karat yellow gold brooch, in the form of a bird in flight, having dark blue enameling; the shoulders of the wings are set in a feather design with eighteen small rose-cut diamonds, the head set with a single small rose-cut diamond; the eyes with cabochon rubies and the body set with a pearl. (Minor loss of enameling to a small area closest to the body on the right wing, otherwise good condition). (Retail replacement value $1,200).
