Gillows walnut and leather curule armchair circa 1875, shaped leather back and padded arms supported by baluster turnings to molded curule base fitted with wood casters; one leg stamped "L086, Gillows-Lancaster".

The original design for this chair is in Gillow's Estimate Sketch Book, 1874, and was made for a Mr. J.F. Harrison, Esq. at a cost of 2 pounds 13 shillings.
