He emigrated to New York City in his youth and in 1857 started a business for himself at 1 1/2 Marion St. After subsequent moves to 197 Wooster St., and 24 West Third St., he set up P.E. Guerin, Inc., at its present location at 21-23 & 25 Jane Street in 1892. P.E. Guerin was one of the pioneers in artistic metalwork in New York and examples of his production may be found in various public buildings, parks and important residences throughout the country. His son, Emmanuel Pierre Guerin, succeeded him, followed by his son's wife Marguerita V. Guerin and then his great nephew, Arthur C. Ward. Today the company is owned and directed by his great grand-nephew, Andrew F. Ward, the fourth generation in this fine family business. P.E. Guerin, Inc. and its family have always stood for the highest quality and finest service and maintains this standard today.
