Description:

Gothic Revival walnut bookcase, probably New Orleans late 19th century, carved molded crown, arched glazed panel doors, on lower part with panel doors and molded base; H106 1/2" W95" D15"

Provenance: North Carolina private collection

Other Notes: Bookcase was originally in a New Orleans convent, later moved to Sacred Heart Convent, St. Joseph, Missouri; and again to Conrad House on the corner of 9th and Robidoux Street in the same city. Some years later it was purchased from an antiques dealer by the present owners.

    Condition:
  • Some losses to shelf supports. Scratches and scuffs consistent with age and use. Overall good condition.
