Other Notes: After leaving the United States for France in the early 1890's, Tanner became increasingly interested in religous subject matter such as CHRIST AT THE HOME OF MARY AND MARTHA. The final version of the painting is now in the collection of the Carnegie Museum of Art in Pittsburgh.
