Description:

Japanese Imari porcelain punch bowl Meiji period (late 19th/early 20th century)
scalloped and reeded rim, bowl painted with traditional colors depicting vignettes of gardens.
H6" Dia.13 5/8"

Provenance: Descended through the estate of Dora Gray, a well-known Columbia, South Carolina decorator from the 1930s to the late 1950s. Miss Gray 's home and shop was located at 1316 Gervais Street, on property now occupied by Trinity Episcopal Cathedral.
