Japanese lacquer sage Jubako (picnic set) Meiji-Taisho Period (1868-1926)
decorated in gold, silver and black hiramaki-e and nashiji with an overall design of shells, blossoming branches, bamboo, and landscapes; comprising: four-tier quatrefoil stacking food box; shallow tray; five rectangular tray-form plates; rectangular tray-form dish; round saucer dish; and bamboo-form sake flask; contained within frame to serve as traveling picnic set.
