Other Notes: John Challis (Ypsilanti Michigan, 1908 to 1974) studied with Arnold Dolmetsch in England. He is considered the finest harpsichord maker of the 20th century. He built approximately eight harpsichords a year charging $400 to $2700 in 1944 to create an instrument.
