Kitty Hawk "Wright Flyer" fabric sample and aeronautical autographs 1 1/2" fabric square mounted on certificate printed with photo of first flight, addressed to William Van Dusen and signed by Lester Gardner, framed.

Other Notes: The Wright Flyer was the first powered aircraft built by Orville and Wilbur Wright. They flew it four times on December 17, 1903 near Kitty Hawk, North Carolina. It was the first successful piloted flight of a heavier-than-air machine.

Eddie Rickenbacker (1890-1973) was an American World War I fighter ace and the recipient of the Medal of Honor.

Jimmy Doolittle (1896-1993) was also a Medal of Honor recipient and an aviation pioneer. He is famous for his leadership as the commander of the "Doolittle Raid" during World War II.
