Large Swiss cylinder six-tune music box, Nicole Freres circa 1887 rectangular inlaid top opens to reveal mechanism for playing six-tune, 16" cylinder; box rests on accompanying made-to-match stand having drawer which holds two additional 16" cylinders. music box H16" W42" D17", stand H27" W46" D20"

Provenance : A Charleston, South Carolina estate.

Other Notes: Including the original tune card, instructions and paperwork from the Lightner Museum documenting age.

    Condition:
  • Stand accompanying the music box is not original to it, but was built to match at a later date. Top of the box is bowed, with a stabilized shrinkage crack.

    The tune sheet is present, and there are no apparent damages to any of the cylinders, as it does play melodically. The tunes are as follows:
