Description:

Late Federal mahogany tall post bed circa 1830, possibly Southern
flat tester above twist-reeded and acanthus-carved posts, flanking shaped headboard and footboard, on turned and tapered legs.

Provenance: Property of Judge James A. Seddon, Secretary of War under Robert E. Lee.
Most recenlty from a Myrtle Beach, South Carolina private collection.

    Condition:
  • Refinished, now in a red wash, minor losses and imperfections consistent with age.
